HAPPINESS
Audio: BBC Learning English (6.00)
Britain is less happy than in the 1950s despite the fact that we are three times richer. So what exactly makes us happy? A new car, an expensive holiday or simply spending time with friends and family?
Join Rebecca and Kate as they discuss what makes them feel cheerful as well as hear from some experts about where we can find true happiness.
Video: The power of happiness (10.39)
Happiness seems to have almost magical properties.
Scientists claim it can make us more resilient and creative, harder working, healthier and even live longer.
CHILDHOOD MEMORIES (8.58)
An American boy relives some childhood memories. I think it's fun.
Remember you can also borrow material for your listening practice from the school library. Have a look at the new National Geographic readers which come with a DVD.
